Portsmouth Police: After Fall River crash, driver keeps going and going


Thursday, Oct. 4

Michelle Carr, 53, of 175 Middle Road, Portsmouth, was charged with drunk driving and refusing a chemical breath test at 5:10 a.m. Police say that they received a report that she had been involved in an accident at the junction of Route 195 and Route 24 in Fall River but had not stopped. The other driver followed her to Portsmouth. They both stopped near East Coast Construction but the other driver said she refused to stay. Police located her near West Main Road at Sprague Street.

After police were called to a 10:30 p.m. disturbance on Scotty Drive, they arrested Destiny Gray, 23, of Fall River on two bench warrants for failure to appear.

Friday, Oct. 5

At 6:25 a.m., Robert Furtado Jr., 54, of 3338 East Main Road, was arrested on a Narragansett PD warrant for violation of a protective order.

Saturday, Oct. 6

After they found him sleeping on a car behind a Park Avenue bar, police arrested Brian Ennis, 50, of Newport on a Providence warrant for simple assault.

After a dispute with a Portsmouth woman, David Tingle, 46, of Warwick, was charged at 9 p.m. with domestic vandalism, domestic assault, domestic disorderly conduct, refusal to relinquish a telephone and resisting arrest. He is accused of knocking the woman down and breaking a vase. Police said that when they found him lying in the grass nearby he fled on foot for a short distance.

Monday, Oct. 8

At 6:45 a.m., John Zegouros, 56, of 100 Cedar Ave., Potsmouth, was charged with domestic assault for allegedly striking a woman in the head.
