Little Compton: driver misses turn, hits wall, two hospitalized


Friday, April 12

An 18 year-old driver from Fall River failed to negotiate the turn at the intersection of West Main Road and Warrens Point Road at 6:42 p.m., went off the roadway, and struck a stone wall. The driver and a passenger were treated at the scene by rescue personnel and transported to the hospital. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

Sunday, March 31

At 9:06 p.m., Kyle N. Novo, 19, of 200 Long Highway, Little Compton, was charged under a 2nd District Court warrant with failure to appear for a failure to pay hearing.

Monday, April 8

At 3:08 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on West Main Road after recognizing the driver as Jason Almeida, 30, of Fall River, aware that there was an active bench warrant for his arrest issued by the 2nd District Court for failure to appear. He was charged under the warrant and with driving with a suspended license.

Thursday, April 11

A 79 year-old driver reported at 7:39 p.m. that while driving on Long Highway she’d struck a deer that ran out onto the roadway into her vehicle. The deer was killed and her car sustained front end damage, though she was uninjured.

At 10:38 p.m., a Long Highway resident reported to police that someone had vandalized her mailbox.

Sunday, April 14

A driver pulling out of a driveway on Rockbridge Road at 11:56 a.m. struck a tree, damaging the vehicle but causing no injuries.
