A 16 year old East Providence boy was charged with receiving stolen goods-misdemeanor after allegedly stealing two iPods from a Barrington man.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, police were dispatched to Tiffany Circle where a man reported his vehicle had been left unlocked for about a half hour. During this time, two iPods were taken from his vehicle. The man told police he had previously seen a male subject in a green t-shirt and jeans riding a bicycle in the area.

Police stopped a teenager matching that description less than four hours later. The teen, who was stopped on his bike on Maple Avenue and found to have two iPods, reportedly told police he was coming from a friend’s house. The teen said the iPods had been given to him by a friend.

Other teen charged

Also on Saturday, police stopped a 16 year old Barrington boy who was riding a bicycle near Bicknell Avenue. That teen was charged with possession of marijuana-first offense after police reportedly discovered a pair of marijuana cigarettes and a small bag containing marijuana in his pockets.
