Car thieves strike five times in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — Between Friday, Sept. 14, and Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Portsmouth Police Department has taken reports of five stolen motor vehicles.  The vehicles have been taken during the overnight hour and have been stolen from Quail Road, Ash Street, Galley Lane, Stage Coach Road, and Harbor View Road.  All of the vehicles stolen have been left unlocked with the keys left inside.

Portsmouth Police are urging Portsmouth residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave their keys with their vehicle.  Residents should also not leave any valuables inside their vehicles.

Anyone with any information on these vehicle thefts, or  who has witnessed suspicious activity is asked to immediately contact the Portsmouth Police Department at (401) 683-0300.
