Barrington Police sergeant indicted

The Providence County Grand Jury indicted a Barrington Police sergeant last Friday.

Joseph Andreozzi, 46, of Barrington, is charged with one count of obstructing the judicial system and one count of cyberstalking.

It is alleged that on or about August 29, 2012, Sgt. Andreozzi harassed his ex-wife via electronic communications, according to a Grand Jury report.

It is further alleged that between August 30, 2012 and August 31, 2012, Sgt. Andreozzi endeavored to obstruct or impede due administration of justice

The alleged events took place in Barrington, and the Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation. Personal recognizance was set at $1,000 and Sgt. Andreozzi is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on February 6, 2013.
