EAST PROVIDENCE — As the heavy snow and high winds of Nor’easter Nemo increased Friday night, public works and safety personnel are doing all they can to keep up with the demands of the worst winter storm to hit the area in 35 years.

At about 9 p.m., the East Providence Emergency Management Agency noted residents are reporting several trees and wires are either hanging low or down and the number of reported power outages are increasing.

Every plow the city has available is out working and there is extra police and fire personnel on the job.  There has been no change to the forecast. Still plenty more snow and wind to come.

According to National Grid, 13 outages left 582 customers in East Providence without power.
