Snow and ice will soon give way to balls and strikes and Bristol’s King Philip Little League is welcoming new and returning players into the league.
League officials will hold player registration for the upcoming season on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elder Care Community Room on Wood Street.
First time players to KPLL are asked to bring a copy of their birth certificate and two proofs of residency.
Parents of players are also invited to get involved with the league by volunteering as a manager, coach or other duty to help enhance the little league experience. Background checks are mandatory for all league volunteers. Anyone interested must present a valid driver’s license and complete a BCI form.
Those who sign up by Feb. 28 can take advantage of the discounted registration fees as follows: T-ball, A and AA divisions – $50 per player; AAA and Major divisions – $80; Junior and Senior divisions – $100 per player. The maximum charge per family is $210.
Registration fees after Feb. 28 are: T-ball, A and AA divisions – $70 per player; AAA and Major divisions – $100; Junior and Senior divisions – $120 per player. The maximum charge per family is $230.
A $25 fund-raising fee will be charge to each family. Scholarships are considered upon request.
Checks, cash and credit cards are accepted for payment. Credit card transactions will be subject to a $3 per player processing fee. A $15 fee will be charged if a check is returned for insufficient funds.
