Planning board member resigns, another may be dismissed

Two seats on the Warren Planning Board will soon be up for grabs.

Member Mary Jamiel recently told town officials that she will not seek re-appointment to the board when her term expires at the end of the year. A filmmaker, she said she is in the midst of a project that will consume much of her time over the next few years.

The other seat was held by Martine Rousseau. Board member Fred Massie asked the Warren Town Council last week to remove her from the board and advertise her position as vacant, and the council was expected to discuss his request this Tuesday night.

Apparently, Mr. Massie said, Ms. Rousseau “left the planning board and, in addition to her unexcused absence from the board’s most recent meeting, she has not replied to multiple requests to respond regarding her status.”
