quakertowerPORTSMOUTH — There are 13,712 registered voters in Portsmouth, but only 50 cast ballots for the Portsmouth Water and Fire District’s annual election held Wednesday.

If you do the math, that means only .36 percent of voters turned out at the polls.

Incumbent Philip T. Driscoll was re-elected to a three-year term as clerk, receiving 46 votes. (There was one write-in, for “anyone.”)

Terri-Denise Cortvriend was elected to a three-term as water commissioner, receiving 48 votes. (There was one write-n vote for Denis M. Coffey.)

Mr. Driscoll and Ms. Cortvriend will be sworn in at the board’s next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.
