For those with household hazardous waste they need to get rid of quickly, there’s a new alternative for Westport residents who can’t wait for the next hazardous waste disposal day behind Town Hall.

The Board of Selectmen received word that NEDT Collection Center, located in sutton, will accept a wide range of hazardous waste. On the list are oil and gasoline, batteries, paints (oil and latex), aerosol spray cans, pesticides and herbicides, devices containing mercury, automotive fluids, corrosive cleaners, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, driveway sealer, polishes and waxes, fluorescent lamps, electronics, computer monitors and more.

The Collection Center charges on a pay-as-you-throw basis and accepts cash and credit cards. Check their website www.NEDT.org or call 866.769.1621 for pricing.
