Movie at Burr’s Hill Thursday night

bandshellWhat are you doing Thursday night? Indiana Jones will be looking for the lost Ark of the Covenant as soon as darkness falls on Burr’s Hill. Raiders of the Lost Ark will be the first shown as part of the Hometown Revival Project‘s Music and Movies in the Park series. It is free, snacks, wine and beer are being served, and the movie will be broadcast on the bandshell itself. In this photo taken Wednesday night, volunteers wipe the giant bandshell so the picture’s crisp and clear.

Here’s a partial listing of movies and music:

June 26: Raiders of the Lost Ark

July 10: The Grand Budapest Hotel

July 17: Ian Fitzgerald and Friends

July 31: Roman Holiday/Art Night

August 14: What Cheer? Brigade

August 21: Edward Scissorhands

August 28: Special musical guests to be announced

  1. The original bandshell was designed for musical concerts performed with acoustic instruments. It was never meant to be used for electric instruments or movies. Between the motorcyclists ramming around town on their “hogs” without mufflers, and the noise from the park, Warren is far from the quiet town that I thought it was when I moved here seven years ago.
