Motor home misery

On Friday afternoon, Chris Buckley contemplates the damage done to his motor home by Thursday’s wind storm. He was waiting for the electric company to show up.

TIVERTON — This week’s big winds took dead aim at a motor home parked in Chris Buckley’s Bulgarmarsh Road, Tiverton, motor home.

After discovering the damage, Mr. Buckley called a tree removal company but the crew took one look and left. Stuck between tree and motor home is the house power line — the workers said they didn’t want to chance it since the motor home has an aluminum body.

“They told me they’d come back after the electric company comes — I’m still waiting for them (power company),” he said Friday afternoon.

He’s not sure of the extent of damage but believes the roof is pushed in and knows the air conditioner on top is smashed.

It is (or was) a nice one, he said of the motor home, a 1972 Barth that runs nicely, is very comfortable and has taken him on trips to Vermont. “I hope it can be fixed.”
