Moo-ve over: Cow wanders Sowams Drive in Bristol

The following items were among the Bristol police log Nov. 5 – 11, 2013:

Tuesday, Nov. 5
A Bay VIew Avenue resident asked to speak to an officer about a pill she allegedly found in her daughter’s room. It was in an old prescription bottle at her mother’s home.
Jillian R. Hamlin, 20, of 126 Thames St., Bristol, was arrested on charges of domestic/simple assault/battery.
Kristen Hill, 20, of Needham, Mass., was arrested on charges of domestic/simple assault/battery.
A Bourne Street resident reported that juveniles were smashing pumpkins in the area.
Police responded to a home on St. Elizabeth Street for an accidental 9-1-1 call. There was a problem with the phone line.

Wednesday, Nov. 6
A caller reported that her ex-boyfriend was following her around in his car and parked outside her apartment. He would not leave, she said.
Someone reported seeing a loose cow on Sowams Drive. The owner came and retrieved the animal.
Jessica Lynn Harris, 30, of 18 Mason Ave.,, Bristol, was arrested on charges of DUI while transporting juveniles under 13, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
A Hamlet Drive resident asked to speak to a police officer at 8:32 p.m. about the loud noise coming from the Safeway Auto wind turbine.

Thursday, Nov. 7
A Franklin Street resident wanted to speak to police about a loud neighbor.
Julie Ann Castiliego, 46, of 643 Wood St., Bristol, was arrested on charges of DUI first offense, and refusal to submit to a drug test.
A passerby reported seeing two women fighting in the middle of Wood Street near the Bristol Sports Club at 11:03 p.m.
Police arrested Ramiro Reyes, 33, of Cranston, on a 3rd District Court bench warrant charge.
A caller reported that a woman was walking in the middle of Metacom Avenue at 11:54 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 8
Corey Gower, 23, of Providence, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct following an altercation at the Common Pub at 12:48 a.m.
A caller reported seeing about six people inside a foreclosed home on Highview Avenue at 11:38 a.m.
Fire marine rescue was notified about an overturned boat near the west side of Prudence Island. The vessel was not in distress.
Someone from the VFW Post 237 reported getting a phone call about the National Grid scam.

Saturday, Nov. 9
A Hamlet Drive resident reported that a neighbor was blowing leaves into the roadway.
A Wilson Street resident reported that someone was dumping trash into her own trash.
Police arrested Frank Wright, 43, of Attleboro, Mass., on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and vandalism.
A caller reported that three juveniles were running in and out of traffic on Hope and Tupelo streets.

Sunday, Nov. 10
A Metacom Avenue resident reported that a fire in a neighbor’s yard was producing smoke at 12:12 a.m.
Joseph G. San Martin, 19, of Warren, was arrested on charges of DUI first offense at 3:07 a.m.
A woman reported that her medicine was being taken from her.

Monday, Nov. 11
A caller reported seeing a juvenile trying to throw a pair of shows up into the utility lines on Hopeworth and Metacom avenues.
Gabriel Merced, 32, of Providence was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant charge, and violating a no-contact order.
A Carol Avenue resident reported that someone spray-painted the windshield on the back of his car.
Cody James Cabral, 19, of 15 Monroe Ave., Bristol, was arrested on a 6th District Court bench warrant for failure to appear.
