Little Compton Police: Suboxone pill in sock

An East View Drive resident reported at 9:25 a.m. what appeared to be a suspiciously open second story window in his home. Police determined that the window that had rotted and fallen out.

At 4:14 p.m., Joseph Rocha, 26, of Fall River, was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction on South Shore Road, after which officers learned his license was suspended. He was arrested and returned to the station, where officers recovered a suboxone pill they said was concealed in his sock. He was charged with possession of suboxone and with driving with an invalid license. Mr. Rocha’s passenger, Jason L. Ferreira, 28, also of Fall River, was charged with shoplifting under a Tiverton warrant and turned over to Tiverton police.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

Two Old Stone Church Road residents reported at 9:28 a.m. that they had received phone calls they believed were a scam. Both reported the caller said he was soliciting funds for the police department.  The suspect was contacted and he confirmed he was soliciting funds but not for any police department.  No action was taken.
