EAST PROVIDENCE — The American Legion Post 10 in Riverside has undergone an amazing rejuvenation. Thanks to local volunteers as well as local businesses that provided monetary support and materials, they were able to strip and wax the floors, freshen up the paint and deep clean the aging post just in time for Veterans Day.

The club’s fresh new look however, did not take away from the original resolve of this great American post. Volunteers were careful to preserve all of the photos of the past commanders and the placards from other posts across the country. These keepsakes were put right back up where they came from as this is a proud club with deep history.

At Post 10, one thing is certain; don’t let the fresh paint on these old walls fool you. If they could talk, oh the stories they could tell you! This decades old building has been a local meeting spot for generations and has hosted scores of events over the years.

In addition to the annual Memorial Day Parade, the Legion has hosted multitudes of fundraisers and coalitions as well as anniversaries, showers, weddings, birthdays and holiday parties over the years. They also run a lobster raffle every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. with the proceeds going to local kid’s charities. Post 10 is truly a community partner.

The hall upstairs boasts seating for up to 149 patrons and has a working kitchen. It’s available for rent for all types of occasions. The hall rental cost is $175 per event and for $10 per hour. more, you can have your own private bartender.
