League-unbeaten and first-place LaSalle scored the first three times it touched the ball, including what proved the game-winning points on a touchdown run by senior quarterback and co-captain Anthony Francis to conclude the Rams’ first possession. LaSalle was never troubled in the contest, scoring all of its points in the opening 24 minutes to build a 34-0 lead by intermission.

The victory was the Rams sixth in a row on Thanksgiving, upping their overall lead in the series to 47-35-2. LaSalle hasn’t lost a holiday meeting against the Townies since 2006, when an East Providence squad en route to the state title defeated the Rams by a 12-8 score.

LaSalle improved to 8-0 in the Division I standings with the win, 10-1 overall. The Rams are assured of being the top seed in the upcoming state championship playoffs and will host a semifinal contest Tuesday night, Nov. 27. For East Providence, its season comes to a close with a 1-7 record in Division I games and 2-9 overall.
