EAST PROVIDENCE — The LaSalle Academy football team maintained its recent dominance over East Providence in the annual Thanksgiving Day clash between the storied rivals as the Rams ripped the Townies, 34-0, Thursday morning, Nov. 22, at Pierce Memorial Stadium.

The victory was the Rams sixth in a row on Thanksgiving, upping their overall lead in the series to 47-35-2. LaSalle hasn’t lost a holiday meeting against the Townies since 2006, when an East Providence squad en route to the state title defeated the Rams by a 12-8 score.
LaSalle improved to 8-0 in the Division I standings with the win, 10-1 overall. The Rams are assured of being the top seed in the upcoming state championship playoffs and will host a semifinal contest Tuesday night, Nov. 27. For East Providence, its season comes to a close with a 1-7 record in Division I games and 2-9 overall.
