PORTSMOUTH — Former Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy has sold his 210 Farmlands Drive, Portsmouth, house for $1,150,000. Property transfer records list the buyers as James M. and Sheila M. Powell of Middletown.

Mr. Kennedy bought the three acres on Farmlands Drive (off Wapping Road on the town’s east side) in 2000 for $350,000, town records show. The next year he completed construction of a 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath house there.

After leaving the House of Representatives, Mr. Kennedy married New Jersey, schoolteacher Amy Petigout. The couple have since had a child and have purchased and renovated a house in the New Jersey beach community of Brigantine, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Private country setting. Separate guest quarters. Minutes to Newport Harbor.”

Town property appraisal firm Vision Appraisal lists the Portsmouth house as being valued at $598,400 in 2011, with a total value (house and three acres), of $1,292,400.
