It was a great day — and a great turnout — for a worthy cause. Approximately 550 runners and walkers crowded into downtown Warren this past Sunday morning, Sept. 2, to take part in the “Finish for a Guinness” 5K, a fundraiser to help find a cure for ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). The benefit was started in honor o the late Christopher Slone, who died from the disease. The race was started by family member and friends as a way to help offset the Stone family’s costly medical expenses. The race raised $6,000 last year, and this year’s turnout was higher.
