PROVIDENCE — On his Twitter page, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee reports National Grid is making progress assessing power outages around the state.
Over 175,000 Rhode Island residents were without power as of noon Saturday, Feb. 9, in the wake of Nor’Easter Nemo, the winter storm that left upwards of two feet of snow in the area.
Both the governor and State Police Colonel Stephen O’Donnell are also urging residents to obey the driving ban around Rhode Island, so as not to complicate the recovery process.
Travel ban exemptions include those without power seeking assistance from shelters or those seeking to aid friends/relatives without power.
