TIVERTON — The town Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Town Council have announced that the maroon Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) trash bags will not be required of residents during the week of Monday, Dec. 31, through Saturday,  Jan. 5. Any color trash bag may be used for that week only. An earlier notice had said the “holiday’ ended on Friday, but the end date has been extended through Saturday.

The DPW reminds residents, however, that “all trash must still be in bags and all trash and recycling rules will still apply.”
