TIVERTON — Tiverton’s “Annual Clean-Up Week” will begin Saturday, April 13 and end Saturday, April 20. It is sponsored by the Tiverton Garden Club and the Tiverton Litter Committee, working with the Tiverton Department of Public Works (DPW).
Volunteers interested in participating can find sign-up sheets at Coastal Roasters and Essex Library for a specific location, or clean up an area of their choice.
A raffle will be held and prizes given out but volunteers must attend the kick-off on Saturday, April 13 in order to be eligible.
The prizes are provided by the Tiverton Litter Committee.
DPW approved green bags and gloves will be available at Essex Library starting Monday, April 8.
The kick off for the week will take place on Saturday, April 13 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Grinnell’s Beach, when gloves and green bags will be handed out.
Green bags will only be picked up at the following locations (not at residential curbsides, says DPW): the entrance to Grinnell’s Beach, the DPW garage (inside concrete blocks near salt shed), Fogland Beach (near bathhouse), Old Ranger School (left side of building), Bulgarmarsh Playground (parking area), Bayview Playground (by fence at bottom of Hooper), the entrance of Seapowet Management Area, the Town Dump (back of restrooms), Crandall Road Fire Station (area designated by an orange cone), and East Road Fire Station (area designated by an orange cone).
