Candidate forums set for Barrington, Bristol and Warren races

By   /   September 27, 2012  /   Be the first to comment

Rhode Island Voter Coalition will be hosting three candidate forums for Bristol, Warren, and Barrington voters during the next few weeks. Our format is unscripted and all of the questions are asked by you the voters. Each candidate will have the opportunity to make an opening statement, and then questions are taken from the audience.

This is your opportunity to speak to your candidate, face to face, and ask about issues that are important to you. These forums will be taped and shown on public access television, as well as available online.

The forums are as follows:

Thursday, Oct. 4, Old State House in Bristol, candidates for Bristol Town Council. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 18, Warren Town Hall, Warren, candidates for Warren Town Council. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 25, Rogers Free Library in Bristol, candidates for Bristol Town Administrator, Representative for District 67, Representative for District 68. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

Rhode Island Voter Coalition (RIVC) is a non partisan, open fact-seeking civil engagement group designed for the sole purpose of getting people involved in their government through an individual examination of their representation.

These events, moderated by Marina Peterson, will allow the voters to directly pose questions to the candidates and educate them on the issues that are important to them. We not only believe that this will allow voters to choose the candidate that truly represents them, but also will hold some accountability to the promises given to the people by these representatives.
