The Town of Barrington will host a training workshop for members of local boards and commissions on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The evening is entitled: “Free Speech, Due Process and Efficiency: A Toolbox for Running a Fair Public Meeting, But Getting Through the Agenda by Midnight.”
The evening’s agenda is broken up into a number of sections including “Open Meetings and Public Records,” which will focus on the Open Meetings Act and Access to Public Records. That topic will be lead by Assistant Attorney General Michael Field.
The evening will also include a section on Ethics lead by Assistant Town Solicitor Andy Teitz. Topics include Ethical Behavior, the sttae Ethics Commission, Conflicts of Interest and an Appearance of Impropiety.
Mr. Teitz will lead other portions of the meeting including a section on Legal Authority to Protect the Public Interest.
Out-going Town Councilor Jeff Brenner will serve as master of ceremonies. The meeting will run from 6-8:30 p.m.
