EAST PROVIDENCE — The fifth annual East Providence Community Police Division’s “National Night Out” event took place on and around the grounds of the Senior Center Tuesday evening, Aug. 5.
The “Night Out” is a way for law enforcement and public safety personnel to interact with members of the community in a convivial atmosphere. It is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch, child identification and other anti-crime efforts. Target Department Store is the national sponsor of the event and locally as well along with the East Providence Citizens Police Academy alumni.
East Providence Post and eastbayri.com photographer Tim Marshall chronicled the event in the pictures below.
