Fishermen’s 30th clambake is Sept. 15

Tickets are now on sale for the clambake by which all others are judged.

The Westport Fishermen’s Association will host its 30th annual clambake and raffle on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Sportsmen’s Club, John Dyer Road in Little Compton

They’ll serve creamy hot clam chowder to start at noon followed by a traditional seaweed and rock bake at 2 p.m. The generous bake is complete with assorted vegetables, meats, fish, homemade brown bread and stuffing.

There will be a cash bar serving wine, cold Narragansett Beer, soda and water.

A highlight is the  50/50 raffle and a chance to win local gift certificates, hand crafted items, and this year’s grand prize, a cedar strip hand-built Abenaki style canoe.

The regular clambake is $40 and the bake with a whole lobster is $50.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and the orders must be received by September 12. P
