East Providence schools close due to Hurricane Sandy

EAST PROVIDENCE — All schools within the East Providence System as well as the Gordon School, Ocean State Montessori School, the Wolf School, the Bradley School and CADD at Bradley Hospital have announced closings Monday, Oct. 29, as Hurricane Sandy looms.

Catholic schools in the city and around the state were already scheduled to have Monday off due to an educator’s symposium for teachers, which was also canceled due to the impending threat of severe weather.

Also, city-based daycare centers at the Boys and Girls Club, Children’s Place, Ltd., Covenant Coop Nursery School, Sacred Heart Nursery School and Day Care and Trailside Daycare have announced closings on Monday. All activities at the Boys and Girls Club, in fact, have been canceled for the day.

In addition, nearby Seekonk has also canceled school for the day as has Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro.
