EAST PROVIDENCE  — Due to high winds coming off the water and cold temperatures, which led to unsafe conditions, the East Providence Prevention Coalition (EPPC) was forced to cancel its fourth Annual Egg Hunt which was scheduled to take place on March 23 at Rose Larisa Park.
The EPPC’s Board of Directors met the following week, to decide if it was logistically possible to hold the Egg Hunt on some other date. Unfortunately, due to volunteer’s schedules, a new location having to be chosen and so on, it was decided that it would be best to cancel the Egg Hunt for this year. The EPPC has every intention of coordinating an Egg Hunt for next year, 2014, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The EPPC’s Board of Directors also decided that they will move forward with planning a Family Fun Day event in May of 2013. It will be geared towards toddlers to fifth graders.  All other logistics are currently being planned and it will be advertised in the community.
The East Providence Prevention Coalition is a citizens group dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. The Coalition develops proactive strategies through collaboration with community partners in both the public and private sectors. For more information contact the EPPC at 435-1923.
