EAST PROVIDENCE — On Saturday, June 1, the 10 members of the East Providence Police Explorers Program Post 750 along with their Post Advisors Sergeant David Pacheco and Patrolman Andy Benoit conducted a clean up of the area along the East Bay Bike Path.
The Explorers cleaned the area of the path from the bottom of hill from the second overlook on Veterans Memorial Parkway to the inlet on the opposite side of the bike path causeway.
The Explorers began the clean up at 9 a.m. and concluded the clean up at 2 p.m during that time they filled 30, 30-gallon bags of trash. The items collected and removed consisted of mostly plastic bottles and Styrofoam coffee cups. The Explorers also removed some metal sign posts, shoes, numerous balls, a rug, old tarp and several parts from a motor vehicle.
