East Providence Police seek information on Warren Avenue burglary, assault

EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Police Department detectives are seeking information on a Sunday morning incident in city.

At approximately 6:20 a.m., Oct. 20, officers responded to a report of a burglary and assault at a Warren Avenue address in the vicinity of Lyon Avenue. The male subject gained entry into the home by forced entry.

The victim, while inside the residence, was accosted by a white male, approximately in his late teens or early twenties, approximately six feet tall, with a thin build, who was last seen wearing a dark colored top and light colored pants. The assailant fled on foot from Warren Avenue in an easterly direction from the residence. A multi-colored bicycle was used by the male subject and was recovered at the scene.

The victim was assaulted during this incident. The injuries are not life-threatening in nature.
Police urge that any suspicious activity and/or suspicious persons be reported promptly to the police.
