East Providence Police make arrest in hit-and-run case

EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Police Department reports that an arrest has been made in connection with the hit-and-run accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 8 on Taunton Avenue.

Antonio DaSilva, 22 and of Waterman Avenue in city, turned himself in to the East Providence Police at approximately 1:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.  The suspect vehicle was located at the residence of Mr. DaSilva and was seized as evidence.

DaSilva is being charged with “Duty to Stop in Accidents Resulting in Personal Injury.” The victim’s information is not being released at this time.
