East Providence Police arrest breaking-and-entering suspect

EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Providence, and has charged him with two counts of Breaking and Entering; and two counts of Larceny Over $1,500, Detective Lieutenant Michael David wrote in a press release issued Friday, May 24.

The first house break occurred on May 14, 2013, on Roslyn Avenue during daytime hours. Jewelry and monies were stolen from the residence during the break and enter.

The second house break occurred on May 23, 2013, on Cole Street also during the daytime hours. A laptop computer, camera, jewelry, and monies were stolen during the break and enter.

Shortly after the house break was reported, EPPD Detective Corporal Michael Petow observed a male fitting the description from the house break walking on a nearby street. The initial contact with the male juvenile subject, and subsequent investigation, lead to the subject’s arrest. Upon further investigation, items stolen from both house breaks were recovered.

The two incidents were investigated by EPPD Detective Corporals Petow, Jeffrey Mace, Todd Poland and Matthew Robinson.
