EAST PROVIDENCE — The Annual Meeting and Dinner of the East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce was held recently at Metacomet Country Club in city.
The meeting of the 115 year old organization was attended by over 165 people. Highlights of the event were the presentation of the Chamber’s annual awards, election of 2013 board of directors and the guest speaker, Joe Andruzzi.
Gilmore’s Flower Shop was selected as the East Providence Area Chamber’s 2012 Business of the Year in appreciation of their support of the non-profit organization, and Gilmore’s philanthropic and economic contributions to the City of East Providence and surrounding areas.

Their building is a local landmark on Taunton Avenue near the westbound entrance to I-195. Their floral arrangements and high-quality service are well-known in the area. They routinely support the community and local organizations with gift certificates and floral donations for fundraisers, and with Allan’s involvement as chairman of the Downtown Business Association of East Providence, and as a member of the East Providence/Seekonk Rotary and East Providence Beautification Committee, to name a few.”
