The 2014 East Bay Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, June 14 — the day before Father’s Day — from noon to 4 p.m.

The second annual event, which raises money for The Stephen Hopkins Center for Civil Rights and the local non-profit Tap-In (Touch A Person In Need), will be held at Blount Clam Shack on Water Street in Warren.

“Last year’s East Bay Beer Fest was such a success, raising over $2,000 for the two local non-profit organizations, that the decision has been made to hold the event annually,” stated a recent press release.

The beer fest will feature a number of local breweries, including Berkshire Brewing; Foolproof Brewing; Grey Sail Brewing; Narragansett Brewing; Newport Storm Brewery; Revival Brewing; The Bucket Brewery; Trinity Brewhouse; and Union Station Brewery. (The list of breweries is subject to change.)

The event also will include live music by Vince Thompson & Friends and a live brewing demonstration from Brew Horizons Homebrew Supply.

All proceeds from the event will benefit local charities. Tap-In is a non-profit group of volunteers who act as a food pantry, collect donations of clothes and toys for children in need and organize free rides to medical appointments for senior citizens who require help in the Barrington, East Providence, Warren and Bristol areas. The Stephen Hopkins Center for Civil Rights is a non-profit legal aid organization whose mission is to represent the indigent to enforce their constitutional rights to free speech, private property and economic liberty.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event and can be purchased through Eventbrite by searching for “2014 East Bay Beer Fest.” People who are interested can search on Facebook for the event page or go to Eventbrite.com
