Brickyard Wine & Spirits, the lead sponsor of the first ever East Bay Beer Festival, announced this week that they would present Tap-In and The Stephen Hopkins Center for Civil Rights checks from the money raised at the recent event.

A representative from the local store was scheduled to present the money on Tuesday, June 25 at Tap-In’s main office, located below the Barrington Library at 281 County Road. Although the final tally was still being calculated, the total raised for the two charities is expected to top $2,500.

Tap-In (Touch A Person In Need), is a non-profit group of volunteers who act as a food pantry, collect donations of clothes and toys for children in need and organize free rides to medical appointments for senior citizens who require help in the Barrington, East Providence, Warren and Bristol areas. The Stephen Hopkins Center for Civil Rights is a non-profit legal aid organization whose mission is to represent the indigent to enforce their constitutional rights to free speech, private property and economic liberty.
