A Fall River man who attended a Barrington graduation party on Saturday is facing a DUI charge after he drove his car into a tree on Lincoln Avenue.
Barrington police received a 911 call at about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, alerting the department to a single car accident that took place on Lincoln Avenue between just east of the intersection with Middle Highway.
According to police, Roger A. Hill, 60, of Fall River, had been attending a graduation party in Barrington earlier in the day. After leaving the party, he reportedly drove his unregistered 1996 black Infiniti into a tree.
Police allegedly found a large bottle of Haffenreffer malt liquor and some small nip bottles inside the car.
Mr. Hill refused to take a breathalyzer test; police charged him with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol-first offense and refusing to submit to a chemical test.
Rescue personnel transported Mr. Hill to Rhode Island Hospital.
