Bristol will be in full bloom on Friday through Sunday, April 12, 13 and 14 with the Bristol Merchants Association celebrating the start of spring with Daffodil Days. Hundreds of daffodils will line the streets and storefronts along the downtown shopping district.

On Saturday, at 10 a.m., there will be a children’s parade where daffodil decorated bicycles, tricycles, scooters, wagons, baby carriages and more.

At 11 a.m., pet owners will parade their daffodil-themed pooches in a dog parade, with prizes and ribbons awarded to the best dressed. Registration for the parade begins at 9 a.m.

At noon, men, women and children are invited to join in the Daffy Hat Parade, wearing their festive, daffodil decorated hat with prizes for the most creative. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Besides the springtime festivities taking place downtown, more activities will take place at Blithewold Gardens and Arboretum, including jazz music, daffodil garden walks and kids crafts.

In addition there will be:
Special ‘daffodil’ themed restaurant menu items and consumer goods for sale; opportunities to vote for your favorite display of daffodils at participating merchants/hotels/B&B’s. Ballots are available at participating merchants; raffle drawings at each participating merchant to win prizes; and special shopping discounts.

Look for daffodil window and door clings to see which merchants are participating.
