Try, try again.
The Warren Town Council on Tuesday rejected two of the latest offers for the vacant Liberty Street School, voting instead to give the town manager and planner the authority to come up with a plan for the building.
Two entities — Scott’s Woodworking and Thomas Principe Construction, both based in Warren, submitted proposals for the building by a deadline at the end of July. But the bids, $100 from Scott’s, $52,545 from Principe, were rejected out right at the recommendation of town manager Tom Gordon.
“After discussions from the town planner, it is our recommendation that the council reject these two bids and allow the town manager and town planner to explore the renovation, re-use or some other method of marketing the property,” Mr. Gordon said.
