Christmas toy drive benefits local children

It’s time to ‘Deck The Halls’ and ‘Tis The Season for glad tidings as the Bristol Republican Town Committee announces its first-ever ‘Don’t-Be-A’-Scrooge’ Christmas toy drive.

Named in commemoration of the beloved miser from ‘A Christmas Carol,’ The Bristol GOP – working to support the WPRI Eyewitness News and Rhode Island chapter of the United States Marine Corp’s Toys-For-Tots’ annual gift donation program – is in need of new unwrapped toys for children (‘boys and girls’), 2 to 12 years of age. If brought wrapped, please have it marked as a “Boys” or “Girls” toy.

We will be collecting donations at Century 21 Real Estate, 729 Hope St., from now until Saturday Dec. 21 at noon.

“With such an apolitical time of year, what better way for our town committee to focus our energies than to bring holiday cheer to those in need”, said Thomas Carroll, chair of the Bristol Republican Town Committee. “Please let others know as well. The more donations the better.”

Once collected, a member of the town committee will have all donations delivered WPRI studios drop-off location in time for the Christmas deadline.
