Recent achievements of businesses, employees with East Providence ties are noted
BankNewport President and CEO, Sandra J. Pattie recently announced the appointment of BENJAMIN M. LORD to vice president, information security officer. Mr. Lord began his career at BankNewport in 2011, most recently serving as assistant vice president, information security officer. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the Bank’s information security, vendor management and business continuity programs.
Mr. Lord earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science from Providence College. He is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, where he also served as membership chair on the Ocean State Chapter’s board of directors for several years. Mr. Lord, an East Providence native, and his wife, Michelle, reside in Lincoln.
Evergreen House Health Center located at One Evergreen Drive, honored two of their team members during a Whatever It Takes Awards Ceremony. NEIL GONCALVES, a member of the Evergreen Housekeeping team, and CHERYLE CONLON, Evergreen’s Payroll Coordinator, both received one hundred dollars for their outstanding efforts to maintain excellence in customer service along with a chance to be entered into the annual Whatever It Takes competition for a $500 prize.
Evergreen House Health Center is also proud to announce that two of their team members, PATTI CAITO, Director of Activities and GORETE DEMEDEIROS, Restorative Aide, are recipients of excellence awards. Ms. Caito, of Cranston, who has been employed by Evergreen for 1 1/2 years, was recently awarded the Life Care Centers of America National Spirit Award. This award recognizes excellence in service and commitment to the life enrichment programs for our residents. In addition, Ms.Caito also received the 2012 Spirit Award presented by the Rhode Island Health Care Association. Ms. DeMedeiros was also honored as the recipient of the Life Care Centers of America National CNA of The Year Award. She also received The Distinguished CNA of the year award presented by the Rhode Island Health Care Association.
East Providence wedding photographer ANDRE BLAIS was recently awarded as Best Photographer of Rhode Island by the Wedding Industry Experts. In addition to the prestigious honor of being awarded ‘Best of Rhode Island’ Andre Blais Photography was also nominated as a finalist in the ‘Top Photographers Worldwide’ competition, placing within the top 100 nominations. The awards are an annual competition recognizing some of the most popular wedding vendors at a local, national and international level. Each vendor had their own vote page that showed the category they were nominated for and a description of their business. There were 30 categories in total including everything from Best Accessories to Best Wedding Planner.
Donated Dental Board Member Dr. A. THOMAS CORREIA, local East Providence dentists, is one of many dental professionals across the state who provide free dental services to needy Rhode Islanders through the Donated Dental Service program and Delta Dental. Delta Dental, which has contributed over $100,000 in grants to the program, is a long-time benefactor of Donated Dental Services and was presented with an award from the dental charity at its corporate offices in Providence.
JAY L’ARCHEVESQUE, dealer at Elmwood Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in East Providence, Rhode Island, for the 2013 TIME Dealer of the Year award was announced today by TIME. L’Archevesque is one of a select group of 57 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 96th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, on February 9, 2013. The announcement of this year’s nominees was made by Todd Larsen, executive vice president and group president, Time Inc. News and Sports, and Tim Russi, executive vice president, North American Auto Operations, for Ally Financial. The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. Recipients are among the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.
Washington Trust has announced that JO-ANN HARRINGTON, of Albion, R.I., has been appointed Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Bank’s East Providence branch. Ms. Harrington will be responsible for developing and motivating her staff and managing the daily operations of the branch.
Ms. Harrington’s familiarity with this market will be a key factor in the success of increasing the branch’s deposit base and loan portfolio. Ms. Harrington has over 30 years of retail banking experience, most recently serving as Assistant Vice President; Manager at Citizens Bank in Rumford.
