Fat Belly’s Pub has opened at the site of the former Tuscan Tavern at 632 Metacom Avenue. And if the packed parking lot on most days since is any indication, the Rhode Island-based eatery been doing a booming business in the week since the doors opened.

Fat Belly’s, its motto reads, is a pub “where there are no strangers, just friends who haven’t met yet.” There are other locations in Coventry, East Greenwich, Providence, Wakefield, Goddard Park and Warwick, and Warren’s is one of the biggest, with 16 plasma TV screens, Direct TV, the NFL Ticket and team trivia. It’s open every day from 11:30 to 1 a.m., and the kitchen serves until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
