EAST PROVIDENCE — Brothers Jared and Jacob Burrows were each stabbed three times during a violent altercation early Sunday morning, Nov. 25, in East Providence.

Jared Burrows, 20, suffered the more distressing of the injuries. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Rhode Island Hospital and has been unable to be interviewed by investigators, according to East Providence Police Captain Richard Frazier.

Jacob Burrows, 19, was stabbed three times under the right arm and rib area. He, too, remains in hospital but was able to be questioned by EPPD detectives investigating the incident, Capt. Frazier said.

The younger Burrows was able to give police a description of the assailant. Detectives are working to apprehend the suspect.

Capt. Frazier said the incident occurred at approximately 12:38 a.m. Sunday. The brothers as well as their alleged assailant and some 100 people total were in attendance at a “dance” party held at the Knights of Columbus hall in city. The Burrows were later confronted by the suspect on Crescent View Avenue where the stabbing incident took place.
