Local chefs, growers and fishers will join forces to showcase the Bristol’s food resources, showing the value — and flavor — of buying fresh, local food.

Bristol’s Bounty from Land and Sea, a farm to table event, will be held at Mount Hope Farm, Sunday, Aug. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Four noted local chefs will prepare a four course dining experience and interact with the guests during the event. The chefs include Sai Viswanath of the DeWolf Tavern, Riz Ahmed of the Hourglass, Eli Dunn of Eli’s Kitchen and Joe Simone of Simone’s. All are  award winning, notable chefs.

Local farms and fishermen will be highlighted for their contributions of fresh produce, meats and catch of the day.

The setting will be in the meadow adjacent to the historic Gov. Bradford Inn and surrounded by terraced gardens and old stone walls. The bar will be set in the historic potting shed. The event will focus on the national trend of supporting local, fresh food producers.

Proceeds will benefit two Bristol entities: Explore Bristol and the town’s new Quinta-Gamelin Community Center on Asylum Road. Reservations cost $125 each. For tickets or more information, call the farm at 401-254-1745, visit www.mounthopefarm.org, or send checks to Bristol’s Bounty, MHF, 250 Metacom, Bristol, RI 02809.
