Bristol Warren All Bands Concert to perform 25th annual event

BW All bandsMore than 300 band members from Kickemuit Middle School and Mt. Hope High School will participate in the 25th Annual All-Bands Concert in the Paolino Center at Roger Williams University on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

The concert, showcasing the talents of students in t Bristol Warren Regional School District’s performing arts department will open with the KMS 6th grade band performing “Star Fire March” and “A Little Bit of Latin.” The 7th grade band will perform “Phantom Ship” and “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song),” with the 8th grand band concluding the KMS program with “Irish Tune from County Derry” and “Abington Ridge Overture,” conducted by Jeffrey Brackett and Melissa Labonte.

The Mt. Hope High School Marching Band, directed by drum majors Gabrielle Passerello and Justin Vicente, will play “Border Crossing” and “Dynamite,” featuring the flag and dance squads. The concert and symphonic bands will combine to present “Aces High March,” “An Irish Rhapsody” and selections from the movie, “The Lion King.”

The grand finale will feature all musicians combined to perform “Boogie Blues.”

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the performing arts department invites alumni from 1988 to 2013, along with alumni of the National Sections to unite to play the National Anthem to open the concert. Former flag and dance squad members are also invited to attend the performance and be recognized.  A reception/reunion will take place at a local restaurant following the concert.

Alumni who are interested in performing or attending are asked to send an email to: allbands25@gmail.com. If necessary, organizers will attempt to repair or provide an instrument for alumni.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Admission to the All-Bands Concert is $5.00 and free to students and senior citizens.
