I would hope that anyone who legally has a firearm would choose NOT to participate in this program. It is your 2nd amendment right to bear arms. Do NOT feel guilty about it!

I guess the town is changing faster than we thought. I thought it was odd that we were applying for CDBG grants meant to help towns eliminate slums and blighted areas…. now we are doing a gun buy back program like Chicago!

I’m about as conservative as it gets.

That being said, even I see the wisdom in this.

So, you have crackhead number one who realizes the gun he has been toting around will only get him killed.

To fund his next crack-fix, he can sell it to the buyback program, or he can sell it to crackhead number two, who may just use it (maybe on an innocent bystander, like you, Joyce).

Which do you prefer he do, Joyce?

I agree with the crackhead scenario. Just didn’t realize that we had enough of that element in Bristol to start a buy-back program. The demographics of the town is definitely changing. It’s sad.
