A statewide prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is encouraged to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at 33 locations statewide, including a drop-off point at the Bristol Police Department.

“The non-medical use of prescription drugs is a growing public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. In fact, non-medical use of prescription drugs ranks second only to marijuana as the most common form of drug abuse in America,” said Attorney General Peter Kilmartin.

The drop-off location in Bristol is at police headquarters on Metacom Avenue.
