Bristol offers residents trash amnesty

The town of Bristol is offering residents an opportunity to dispose of up to 200 pounds of household trash and unwanted items at no cost. On Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bristol residents who have proof of residency will be allowed to drop off items at the town transfer station. Items, including Freon equipped appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, as well as mattresses and box springs, will be accepted for a fee of $15 per item. Propane tanks are not accepted. The town transfer station is located on Miniturn Farm Road, off Metacom Avenue.
