The Bristol Police Department made the following arrests last week:
Kevin Jay Stoddard, 43, of 403 E. 6th St., Sheridan, Ind., was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving in possession of a controlled substance after he was involved in an accident on Hope Street just after 10 a.m. Aug 5.
Alexander Oliveira, 27, of 511 Baker St., Fall River, Mass., was arrested on a 6th District Court bench warrant Aug. 5.
John Furtado, 63, of 51 Walley St., Bristol, was arrested on a 6th District Court bench warrant for an original charge of disorderly conduct on Aug. 6.
Carrie T. Chase, 37, of 10 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, was charged with forgery and obtaining money under false pretenses at Enterprise Rent a Car on Metacom Avenue on Aug. 8. She allegedly took a $300 money order intended to pay for a car rental. She admitted taking the money order after turning herself into police, according to reports.
Richard T. Difrenna, 44, of 363 Wood St., Apt. 2, Bristol was charged with simple assault Aug. 8.
John M. Dasilva, 47, of 34 Croade St., Apt. 2, Warren, was arrested on a Superior Court bench warrant Aug. 10.
Derek Bouchard, 27, Bray Lane, Bristol, was charged with violating a protective order after officers were called to the home for reported of a verbal argument on Aug. 10. Mr. Bouchard was charged despite the fact that the victim tried to have the restraining order removed. A judge reportedly refused to do so.
Christopher Wood, 22, of 40A Magnolia St., Bristol, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant Aug. 10.
