Option 1 provides Rhode Island residents an unlimited 30-day E-Zpass for $40. E-Zpass drivers without the monthly pass would pay 83 cents each way. This option charges out-of-state drivers $4 per trip.Truck drivers with E-Zpass would pay $2 per axle.
Option 2 would charge $36.14 for a 30-day unlimited E-Zpass, 75 cents for in-state E-Zpass holders, $3.75 for out-of-state E-Zpass and $1.88 per axle for trucks.
Option 3 charges all E-Zpass holders $1.60 per trip.
Drivers without an E-Zpass could be assessed a $1.50 video surcharge for each trip in addition to the $4 toll rate each way.
RITBA also lists several potential discounts for all options:
* All passenger cars with a RI E-Zpass pay the resident rate
* Customers with RI E-Zpass do not pay for more than one trip per direction per transponder per day/24 hrs on each bridge
* 2-Axle trucks are eligible for a $100/month unlimited travel plan on each bridge
* RI E-Zpass passenger cars with trailers pay the same rate per axle as passenger cars; 4-tire trucks (no dual tires) over 7,000 lbs such as landscaping trucks will also pay this lower rate.
The proposals will be discussed Saturday in hearings at the Roger Williams University Conference Center in Portsmouth at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
