A broken water main left a number of Bristol County Water Authority customers in Barrington without any water on Thursday evening. But according to a BCWA representative, the broken pipe was repaired in short time — about three hours — that evening.
The water main broke at about 5 p.m.; the main reportedly provided water to a large number of households in Barrington. Some folks who live in the northern section of town in Hampden Meadows and Sowams had no water for a few hours on Thursday. Other residents were not affected.
Customer service representatives were answering calls after the water main break and telling people that the repairs would likely require four to five hours.
On Friday morning, a BCWA representative said crews worked for about three hours to fix the broken main.
