The Bristol County Water Authority will host a second public hearing in advance of a potential 12 percent rate hike tonight at 6 p.m. The hearing will be held at Warren Town Hall.
The BCWA held an initial hearing on the proposal at Mt. Hope High School on Dec. 20.
The rate hike could be approved at a board of directors meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 9. The potential rate hike would take effect on March 1.
BCWA Executive Director Pamela Marchand has previously stated a driving factor behind the increase is a capital plan aimed at addressing several aspect of the aging distribution system.
